Bangladesh Youth COP 2025

Ms. Sadia Jahan Rothi, Board Director, Eco-Network Global spoke as a Youth Speaker at the Youth Roundtable: Bangladesh Youth Position for COP30, leading to Bangladesh Youth COP 2025.
In her intervention, she emphasized the urgent need to recognize ecosystems not merely as resources but as living systems that protect people, livelihoods, and biodiversity.
She also outlined the clear demands for COP30:
🌱 Ensure grant-based finance for youth-led initiatives
🌱 Guarantee simplified, direct access to climate finance for youth & local communities
🌱 Scale up youth-led NbS projects and research, including mangrove restoration, regenerative agriculture, urban greening.
🌱 Create green jobs for youth so nature is protected, not exploited
🌱 Embed NbS in NDCs & adaptation plans, recognizing their dual role in adaptation & mitigation
Her call was simple yet urgent: NbS must be embraced as justice-centered, holistic solutions that heal ecosystems and strengthen resilience.
